S3fs Tool
S3fs Tool lets you mount an S3 bucket as cold storage for Logpoint, which is accessed infrequently. Once mounted, you can store the logs and backup files to the S3 bucket and fetch the stored data from the bucket.
Key Information
- We recommend you don't mount an S3 bucket to symbolic links such as /opt/immune/ or the mount points reserved for Logpoint.
- Do not create dashboards, alerts, or reports from data in S3 buckets mounted as cold storage.
- If you mount an S3 bucket to a directory, Logpoint automatically configures it as a repo directory. You can log into the UI and configure it as a repo path to rotate the logs to S3.
- If you uninstall S3fs Tool, Logpoint removes the connection to S3. You can then access your data directly from the S3 portal or by re-mounting it to Logpoint.
- The amount of time to generate reports using logs in S3 varies. It depends on the query used and the log results.
